tun3r

Did you ever have that wish that you could have all radio stations online in some crazy mosaic with a big orange needle that you can tune into stations with? Well Tun3r did it. This has to be the coolest interface to online radio stations ever. You scroll around the page that displays little icons each with each being a radio station. Very reminiscent of the old school tuner where the songs skip around while you search. Besides browsing, you can search by artist or title. The playlist shows you what is currently playing, and if you like the radio station, just click on the tun3r button and it opens in your default player.

It’s radio 2.0. Tun3r.com

moretunes

This program is pretty cool. Especially if you are a last.fm user. It automatically fetches the ID3 tag data for your currently playing song and allows you to update the meta data in your song. Moretunes is a bit different than the MusicBrainz classic tagger, in that it does not require you to open the files in a separate application. Moretunes works in tandem with your music player and detects when the song changes.  It has a mini view that only shows the album cover as well as the full info view shown below.

code

Written in semacode, this programmer went all out and wrote a program in
grass that can only be seen and decoded by an aerial view. Pretty cool.

favicon

How many times have you created a favicon.ico… Then time goes by and you need to create another one. I always seem to forget how I created it. Was it Photoshop? Some other program? Well no need to think about it. This site does it for you. Just upload your favicon file and it automatically resizes it for you. It creates the icon in a zip file that you can download. It also makes a bonus animated icon if you’re really up to it. (Bonus points to anyone who can name all of the icons in the picture)

tipsThis is a simple list of tips to keep in mind while developing websites. Some of them are common sense like learn from others and planning, and others are pretty helpful such as the IE Box Model Hack.

The difference between a good web designer and a great one is the ability to know how to take short cuts and save time without compromising the quality of work.

1. Planning

When you’re itching to get started, it’s easy to overlook the most obvious step: planning. Whether it’s drawing wireframes and site diagrams in OmniGraffle or Visio, or even on a scrap of paper, you’ll save time by having an overview of your design at the site and page level before you start… Read More

Wow! I’ve been waiting for this program and finally it is here. Just install it and your Treo or palm hand-held becomes a keyboard and mouse. In fact I am writing this post from my Treo right now. Very cool.

Cool things you can do with this program:

  1. You can surf the internet with your left hand as you drink a beer with your right.
  2. You can trick your friends into thinking that you have magical powers to change the screen by doing an abracadabra motion with one hand while controlling your screen with your other hand
